Sadly, Ed Yourdon died on January 20, 2016 from complications of a blood infection. He is survived by his wife, Toni; his daughter, Jennifer; his sons, Jamie and David; his grandchildren, Liam Christopher, Owen Edward, Edward Roland ("Teddy"), and Elliot Ann; and his sisters, Toni, Teri, Tina, Aleda, and Patrice.
Ed was an internationally recognized expert witness and computer consultant who specialized in project management, software engineering methodologies, and Web 2.0 development. He authored over two dozen books and nearly 600 technical articles. In 1997 he was included among the inaugural inductees into the Computer Hall of Fame.
